Car Alarms: 88 chevy blazer alarm keeps chirping, chevy blazer, losing sleep

Question
I purchased a used 88 Blazer that already had an alarm already. I use it and it works great but chirps every hr after I activate it. The neighbors are getting restless and I am losing sleep but after 2 radios being stolen without it being active, I can't keep buying radios. HELP!

Answer
Not the radios you need to replace. It's the alarm.
If unsure of the alarm you have, you should
replace with a fresh system, new remotes
and a manual that helps you understand
what's going on with it.

In the case of the "chirp every hour" scenario,
The system you have there seems to be reading an
open circuit, and is simply reporting it.

Without know what you have or, knowledge of it's
internal wiring and workings, I would have to say
still, replace it unless you can identify
and correct the trouble with it.

Seriously, spend a couple of dollars now
and replace it. The neighbors will thank you!
