Car Alarms: 1993 Acura Legend - Anti theft Alarm issues, 1993 acura legend, alarmtek

I have just purchased a used 93 Acura Legend and am having an issue with the alarm going off on its own, and we have no idea how to shut it off without disconnecting the battery cables.  The car came with NO OWNERS MANUAL, I am positive this alarm is factory installed.  Is there a remote that we should have received at time of purchase?  I have ordered the Owners Manual, but the immediate future would love to know how to shut it up!   Thanks so much!

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.
