Car Alarms: 2005 Ford Sport Trac Alarm, interior lighting, lighting system

Question
After locking my sport trac with the remote and walking off about 100 feet, the horn alarm started going off...it did this about 3 times before i finally opened the driver's door and re-shut it....would it have been set off because the door was not completely shut?  This is the first time that this has happened.  Thanks!

Yes.
  The alarm depends on the door circuits to be off.
If they were not, then it sounded.
Solution? Be more mindfull of the interior lighting system.
If a power draw is detected, the default position for the
alarm is to trigger.
