Car Alarms: RS3000, replacement transmitters, toyota camry

Question
I have 98 Toyota camry and the RS3000 system is installed
and sometimes I press the button (either one) and the alarm
goes off, does this mean, the remote ctl tranmitter is bad
( change the battery each time) or need new one or the system is bad? thanks

Don't know the system from the numbers you've
presented, but I'd try to reset the system to
start from armed mode, and if the trouble
pesists, replace it with something that works
for you, as opposed to against.

Try identifying the system you have with the FCC#
on the back of the remote at a site that sells
replacement transmitters.

That's a good start.
