Car Alarms: How do i reset the alarm on a 96 mustang gt, mustang gt, purple wire

How do i reset the alarm on a 96 mustang gt I read your answer to the last guys same question but I have no dark green / purple wire comming from the factory anti theft box for I was just going to ground it out like you stated. If you might know of another color wire to ground out the system on a 96 mustang GT hard top please let me know.
My problem is the theft light flashes when I turn the key in the on spot and when I turn to start it will start for like 2-4 sec. and die like it is out of gas and it will do this every time I turn the key off and try to start again so my guess is the theft alarm is killing the power to the ignition. And I tried all the door lock reset stuf and nothing seemed to work the light will just not stop flashing. Any help would be very nice. Thank you for your time Russ

It's not the alarm system.

Your issue is the PATS system.
The ignition key is not being recognized by the
passive anti theft system transponder.

Ford will need to program the key again
so you can start it.
