Car Alarms: 2002 Honda Accord LX alarm, fcc id, honda dealership

Question
My son put my clicker in the microwave and fried it. When I bought the car the alarm never set itself, so I never had any issue. Recently I had to jump the car and somehow this reset the system. At this point the alarm goes off when I open the door. I don't know the car history, but the clicker is generic. I believe the alarm system came with the car...there's a red light inside and a sticker on the window. What are my options? Do I need to get towed to a honda dealership?

Answer
Well, there seems to be 2 systems in the car.
The first is Honda's immobilizor/anti-theft system.
There is a chip in the key. If the key is lost,
then you will need to see Honda for another.

If this is after market, see the last few posts
about valet overide. Once put into "service" mode,
you can then either try to ID the aftermarket
piece by using the FCC ID # on the back of the
remote, or remove the system entirely, and start
over from scratch with a product you know all
about and have fresh remotes to start you out.

Try the overide methods, and let me know
haow it works out.
