Car Alarms: 2003 Chevy Trailblazer-remote starter, 2003 chevy trailblazer, chevy trailblazer

Question
Our blazer won't start.  We have been told it could be the automatic starter. We purchased the vehicle used last year, so we don't know if it is factory installed or not.  Someone told us if we disconnect the remote starter and rewire it, it would probably start.  We have tried to reset it (turn on, leave for 10 min), that didn't work.  Any suggestions on how to remove it, without it being towed?

Answer
Maam, if this vehicle has a remote starter, it was put in after market.
That being said, the installer used a bypass
to get around the PASSLOCK system in it.

This bypass module could have lost programming, or is malfunctioning.
It's also possible that the factory
alarm has been set off and needs to be reset.

Try key in the drivers door, turn left
to disarm, right to unlock. iF NOT &
If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing
the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt. green |-|driver door module in door.
Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, I'd start with the GM code reader
first before attempting these invasive solutions.
They may be able to simply reset it.

Let me know what they discover.
