Car Alarms: Alarm going off for no apparent reason, set ups, discernable reason

I have a 2001 Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI - the alarm has been fine for months, but over the last few nights the alarm has gone off several times - usually between early evening and the middle of the night for no discernable reason - when the interior sensor is turned off there have been no problems.  Can't find any insects etc in the car that could have set it off, all doors and windows are firmly shut, therefore no drafts. I have heard that some WIFI set ups can cause such problems - is this true? If this is the case, would it only go off when the WIFI was in use, or at any time?
Any ideas?
