Car Alarms: How to turn off alarm, monte carlo z34, alarmtek

Question
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo Z34 that had an aftermarket alarm installed after the car was purchased.  I am the second owner of the car and I know the alarm was installed throug Ziebart.  I turned the alarm off about three years ago and everything was fine, however I recently had the multi-function switch replaced because my turn signals weren't working and the alarm has kicked back on.  All I want to do is turn it back off but I can't remeber how.  There is a toggle switch underneath the dash but someone told me there is a reset button that I have to find.  Thanks for any info.

Answer
Sure, let's put it into valet/service mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

(Your valet switch might be that toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This solves the problem for now.

Have a nice afternoon.
