Car Alarms: Ultra start remote car starter, 2005 pontiac sunfire, remote car starter

I had an ultra start remote car starter installed in my 2005 Pontiac sunfire on  12/16/05 the company that installed it is out of business.  It worked fine for the 1st year but then Intermittently would not start.  Then intermittently, it would start and then turn off within seconds and then start and turn off and then again, 3 times total.  We have replaced the battery in the remote and that has not made any difference.  Any ideas what would cause this? and what should I do from here?

It's lost either the tach sensing or
the passlockk bypass is malfunctioning.

It's not something a novice should try to do,
