Car Alarms: UltraStarter Tach Lock Out Problem, page leaflet, ultrastart

Question
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer.  I recently purchased this vehicle pre-owned from a dealer about a month ago.  I bought it with a UltraStart 1250m remote starter system already installed (whether it was installed by the previous owner or factory installed, I am not sure.)  I had a problem with the car and a bad rear sensor that was causing my ABS light to be on, as well as a 4x4 light, cruise control was not always working, etc.  I just took it in to get the sensor replaced, and when I got home realized the remote starter was no longer working.  The lights blink 7 times, which according to the small, two page leaflet/instruction manual means there is a tach lock out.  But I can't find anything on the web that tells me how to fix this problem.  I have absolutely no knowledge of how this thing works.  Is there any help you can give me on how to make it work as good as before the auto-fix?  Is this the auto mechanic's fault?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your time and service!

Answer
Their website seems to be down at the moment.  Take a look at the manual again, and see if there is a sequence you need to perform to program the tachometer to the system, it will be called tach learning or something similar.  Some systems do not retain the tachometer rate when the battery is disconnected and yours may be one of them.
