Car Alarms: 96 pathfinder with viper alarm, exact model number, valet mode

Just bought it and the owner had lost the keyless remote. The alarm goes off when i turn the key in the drivers side. If I re-lock the doors and unlock the passenger side it goes off. Can you tell me how to permanently disable the alarm?

Under the driver's side of the dash should be a push button valet/programming switch.  Turning the key to the run position and pressing this switch will put the system into valet mode and disable all security features of the system for you.  If you want to try to get the system working, take a look under the driver's side dash and try to read the exact model number of the brain. Post that number back here and I will see what I can do about locating the manuals for your system as well as the availability of a replacement remote.
