Car Alarms: 1999 dodge avenger, dodge avenger, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1999 Dodge Avenger ... Recently the horn and Panic button started going off (after the car shuts off) .....      by its self !!! while it was going off I removed the horn fuse and it was still going off ..
any help would be great    Thank you !!
ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

Answer
The trouble here is that the factory alarm
in this car relys on the locking and unlocking
of the drivers door. If the remote you have is
not operating, you will either need to contact
Dodge to get another, go to www.remotes4you.com
or, put in an after market system to emulate
the locking/unlocking. Either way, this system
can't simply be "find this wire & ground it".
Can blame Dodge for that, not me! Lol

I have Keyless entry & alarms on sale:
www.CARALARMZ.com & www.KEYLESSRIDE.com

That's what I know about the 99 Avenger.
Hope it works out for you.
