Car Alarms: Honda 2001 EX Car Alarm wont go off, power door locks, honda dealer

Question
My 2001 Honda EX Car Alarm triggered a few days ago (parked on the street, might have been bumped, but no evidence of any tampering visible).  Because I wasn't around, the alarm ran until the battery was drained.  This was the horn-honking alarm, not sure if the lights are flashing.  When I hook the car to another battery to jump start the car, the horn honking starts again immediately.

With the car started, the power door locks work.  However, my remote fob will not lock or unlock the doors or open the trunk.  I just went and got a new battery for both fobs, and tried them both - neither would cause the locks or trunk to operate.  I just tried pushing lock/unlock/trunk, maybe there is a certain sequence to disable the alarm?

With the car not started (but honking due to being hooked to the jump-car battery), the power door locks do not work and the fobs still don't do anything.

Any ideas on what I can try next to reset the alarm?  If not, can I disable the horn to drive to the repair center?  Also, will this require a Honda dealer to repair?

Thanks,
Darren

Answer
If this is not an aftermarket alarm system then I would say the alarm module is to blame.  Even if the alarm is triggered it should stop going off after a certain amount of time, if it went so long as to kill the vehicle battery I would have to think there is something wrong with it.  A dealer would be able to fix the issue, but before taking it there I would suggest posting this question to http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/ and see if an enthusiast there can not help you resolve the issue yourself.
