Car Alarms: BMW E90 Alarm Deactivation, bmw e90, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: Hello, I am going to ship my BMW 325 (E90) and the transporter requires me to completely deactivate the alarm system for the duration of the trip.  How can I deactivate the alarm and then re-activate it when the vehicle reaches its destination?
ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: Robert, it is the factory installed E90 alarm system.  The LED is located on the bottom of the rearview mirror.  It is headlights flashing with a bird-like chirp sound.

Answer
If equipped with a factory alarm, the alarm
will be plugged into the factory alarm plug.
The only way to arm and disarm the factory
alarm is with the factory remote.

Have a technician from BMW unplug the system,
and to shou YOU how and where to replug
once you arrive.

Sorry, it's the only way to be sure if you do not
trunst them to lock and unlock the car with
the factory remote.

Of course, if you do not have a factory remote
to control it, then I'd get one prior to leaving
there.

Good trip!
