Car Alarms: Rattler car alarm, rattler car alarm, valet mode

Question
I have had no problems until I got tires at Wal-Mart. The alarm will not chirp anymore and the indicator light stays on instead of blinking when it is armed. I think it must be in valet mode. The door lock and unlock modes work fine when I press the button. The panic alarm works but when I lock the doors the alarm will not sound after beating on the door or lifting the door handle to try and set off the alarm.
Help please...

Answer
The servicing technician put your alarm in valet mode.  Valet mode allows the system to operate it's convenience features (lock/unlock) but disables all security features.  The Rattler line is not one that I am as familiar with as the other DEI lines, but with the others if you open a door and press lock/unlock/lock on the remote it will put it in and take it out of valet mode.  You can also put the system into and out of valet mode by turning the ignition on and pressing the valet programming button mounted in the vehicle.
