Car Alarms: Anti-theft device, hyundai elantra, dash area

Question
I have a 1996 hyundai elantra.  I believe this feature was factory installed.  You turn the key 2 clicks and wait for a chime before you can start the car.  This morning I went to start my car and there was no chime.  Is there a way to disable this feature?

Never heard of that. It may be something
Hyundai should look into.

There is NO factory alarm on your car
however, so if it's after market, there
would be an overide switch somewhere out
of site.

Do you see anything under the dash area like
a switch or a button?
