Car Alarms: CAR ALARM ON 05 DODGE DURANGO, dodge durango, code sequence

My 4-year old played around with the alarm remote. Now the alarm won't respond when I press "On" or "off". There is a light flashing above the dash now. But I don't want to open the door, just in case the alarm is still active. How do I get it working again. Alarm came with car from the dealer.

Without knowing the exact make and model of the alarm it I would not be able to provide specifics, however what I would suggest is trying to hold down the button on the remote for better than 10 seconds.  Some alarm systems have what is known as anti-codegrabbing technology.  These systems have a specific algorithm of codes the remote sends when you press the button.  If the remote is ahead of the brain in it's code sequence holding the button for a duration should resync the codes.
