ok ford guru's got a inop horn and all is ok with fuse and
also a drivers door ajar chime goes off intermittantly but no
ajar lite in dash. fuse is good and the horn relay in the fuse
panel is not "serviceable" according to no data. we suspect
that the security module is the fault. ford has it in stock.
but we can't find it (some where on passenger side under hush
panel) we can't find it. any of you blue oval guys had this
kind of issue? some feedback sure would help!

Answer
The trouble here is that you need to bypass the
PATS system to disarm the factory alarm in the
03'
Note:
FACTORY ALARM WILL DISARM WHEN IT SEES A
VALID PATS KEY AND IGN #1 ACTIVATED.

Basically meaning it needs to be disarmed
using the factory code key in the ignition.

I mean you can always bypass the transmod
in the ignition column, but the trick here
is to also energize the ignition.
How do you do that without draining the
battery?

This may do it.

You make the ignition code reader think the smart
key is in the ignition at all times.
This keeps the system from arming in the
first place.

Try this:
Go get 2 non transponder keys cut at
the hardware store for 3 bucks each.
Get a universal bypass module (key-in-a-box style)
at www.REMOTESTARTCENTRAL.com for 25.00.

Then wrap the coil around the key cylinder,
secured in place with hot-glue. Connect the
status input wire to chassis ground and the
positive to ignition...no more transponder
key required. No Smart Key security issues.

Since it keeps it from arming in the first place,
it should in theory, solve this issue.

But it's a theory. Up to you to prove it to
be correct though.
