Car Alarms: hmmm?, golf gti 1992, 12 volt

hi ive just taken an old clifford concept 600 year 2000ish from my mk2 golf gti (1992) ive reconnected all the wires which were cut to install the unit, as they were b4 and ive also removed all(i think) sensors. when i start the car it will only run for 2 seconds and then cuts out and this 2 second timing remains the same every time i try to start the car, im mystified! please help! many thanks in advance.
