Hello,
    I have a 1998 ford taurus that i recently purchaced. It only came with one key and no remotes. I recently asked ford if the remote entry was installed on the car from factory. It was. I did order a remote. Now, my problem is that I cant get it to work. I tried the test to see if it was actually enabled. and I cant seem to get anywhere.
My question is: Is there a way it might have been disabled by a previouse owner? And where is the unit in the car for the remote entry.

No, Ford needs to get in there and clear the codes
that are in the current keyless memory, and program the
new transmitters at that time.

Don't waste your time futzing with it.

Please take the remote you just bought up
to the Ford dealer, and have them do it.

They actually should have in the first place
as a courtesy for charging you so much
for it!
