Car Alarms: 91 chrysler le baron lx convertible, override switch, chrysler le baron

Question
Hello. Hope you can help me. For some reason my wife's chrysler convertible
won't start and it appears that it's the alarm system that won't let it start. Can
you tell me what to do? Can it be reset? If so, how do I do it? There are only
about 60 miles on the car and otherwise seems to be okay. Sincerely, George

Answer
60 miles on a 91 Le Baron?  Wow.

Unlocking the driver's door with a key disarms the factory alarm.  When you unlock the door it sends a ground pulse to a lt.green/orange wire that tells the alarm to disarm.  This however only applies to a factory installed alarm, an aftermarket system would have a manual override switch that would be activated by turning the key to the run position and pressing/flipping the switch.
