Car Alarms: 1994 Nissan Maxima Factory Alarm, plastic garbage bags, nissan maxima

Question
My teenage son recently got this car from my sister who has had no problems
with it. We started it after it was setting fro 3 months and drove it home with
no problem. Then, when we tried to start it a few days later when we moved
the key nothing happend. I read that the security system overrides the starter
button. I played with the keypad on the door, and also the key to lock, unlock
and genearlly try anthing I could. I then set in the car. The securiy light I
believe was off. Suddenly after a few moments the dashboard activated, the
seat belts pulled back, the clock came on, and I was able to start the car. I
had left the key in the ON positon. I drove to the store, turned it off, and now
can't get it on again. In fact last night I had to have it towed back home and I
have plastic garbage bags covering the electric windows that I opened. Can
you help? You said something early in a post about the cancel wire but where
would that be? Thanks, Ed

Answer
Ok, need to take down the steering column underpanel.
Then you want to ground out the factory alarm disarm
wire.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt.grn/blk/ sil dots |-|anti-theft module,
The Anti-theft module located to left of steering column.
Says Theft Warning on module.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
