Car Alarms: landrover discovery, transponder chip, factory security

Question
how to turn off the alarm system with key only, engine is imobilized

Answer
No sorry, if it's in security lock out (immobilizer),
and the key is not turning it over then
you will need to visit Landrover to re code.

No real option there, as the car does not recognize
the transponder chip in your key anylonger.

However, if it's the Factory alarm,
and not the vehicle transponder anti-theft
immobilizer you are attempting to circumvent,
you can disable it for good by
doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
blue/green or blue |- negative| at
the security module.

The factory security module is located above
the hood release.  Held into place with
two 7 mm bolts..

Once Located, splice into either wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.
Not, on the Discovery
these 2 wires will also arm the alarm.
So once disarmed, do not
remove ground gonnection.

At this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
