Car Alarms: F150 Karr alarm prob, karr alarm, chirps

Question
I have a 2003 f 150 with a dealer installed Karr alarm(Yeah I know - I got suckered). I recently killed the battery by leaving the ignition in "on". when I tried to resart the car the LED started blinking and I could hear a switch opening and closing in what seemed to be an out of control manner. After I got the truck jumped I had no alarm function (blinking running lights, flasning LED or horn chirps) although the remote locks still work.

I am thinking the relay may have burned out and I did check the two fuses on the alarm hardware as well the fuses for the truck.

Most confused,

Steve

And thank you so much in advance:)

Answer
May have surged when you powered back up and toasted
the alarm in the process. Only way to tell really is
to pull it, then bench test it. But yeah,
you did get snookered with the alarm.

My best take on this if looking for a silver lining.
It gives you an excuse to select a system
that you are happy with from the
git go.

In any event, don't leave it pluged into the harnesses
attatched to the ford in case you have other issues.

It really was'nt all that in the first place, so
RIP and move onto something that will actually,
you know, protect the vehicle.

Let me know if you want some better ideas.
