Car Alarms: Valet 474T, 2002 toyota camary, replacement remotes

I have a 2002 Toyota Camary that came with a after market system when I bought it. I have 2 questions. (1) I want to get a replacement remote. The remote I have is a Valet 474T 4-button. Can I get any brand as a replace, as long as it's a 474T or does it have to be Valet? (2) Is it possible to upgrade my system to a 2-way, or better to get a whole new system?

Ok, the Valet 474T system is an older one for sure.
If you want to replace the transmitters, go to
a place that either sells the Valet (DEI) line,
go to www.directed.com or, a place that specializes
in replacement remotes like www.KEYLESSRIDE.com .

Transmitters are all different (freq. wise)
so no, you need the specific remotes that are
paired to this alarm.

If it were me? I would pull it, and put in
the Galaxy 5000 rsw 2 2way. It does alot more
for the money, and will do a great job in this car.

In any event, you have the options on
the table for ya. Shop and price out the cost
of the replacements, and the cost of upgrading.
