Car Alarms: Parking lights, dodge ram 1500, wiring connections

Question
QUESTION: I just purchased a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and it has a Viper 850 VX system installed.  I noticed that I didn't have any parking lights. I checked all fuses, scanned over general wiring connections/etc.  After giving up, I pushed the remote entry button to lock the truck, and noticed that all the parking lights flased 2 times.  That told me they at least were working.  This morning i go out, find the viper brain, there is no valet button, but i dont see anything that can help.  Any ideas on how to get my parking lights to work from the "parking light" switch?  I have a new purchase that I cannot drive at night :(

Help
ANSWER: Interesting. Not an alarm issue I think though, unless
the connection from the alarm is the trouble.

ok, installers point of view.
Look at it this way...
...draw a line, on one end is the parking lights.
In the middle, the alarm connection to flash them, and
then on the other end, the switch that turns them on.
If the alarm flashes the parking lights, this tells me
that the trouble is going to be either at the switch,
or the connection from it (the wire the alarm is
connected too) is the place to trouble shoot.

Have a look there to see if there is a bad connector,
or possibly the switch is bad. I assume you also checked
the fuse under the hood in the master block too right?

Let me know what you find.

QUESTION: Well the problem has grown.  I went out yesterday to look at it again.  Now my lock/unlock buttons on the remote do not work the truck locks.  When I press either button, I can hear the viper brain clicking(like it's working the locks) but the locks dont operate.  And finally, when trying to start the truck at lunchtime, the starter kill must have been activated because it wouldn't start. I pressed the unlock button on the remote and the truck started.  At least it all seems centered around the viper brain (I think).

Help again :(

Answer
Ok now we're into the Viper itself, and that is
covered at my forum www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com .

Go over there, and talk to TWELVOLTZ
about the locks. He knows the systems.
I am not a Viper guy. So it's best he sees this q&a for
the correct procedure on DEI equip.

Luck with it.
