Car Alarms: 2002 Honda CRV Factory alarm problem, 2002 honda crv, valet mode

Hello, I've always had my car alarm set to maunual so that it can only be armed with the key unit. Lately I find that it alrms automatically. When I follow the manual, I can put it into "valet" mode but then I can not put it back into manual mode. Is there an indicator to tell me when I'm in manual or auto? Am I missing something?

Factory alarms are not my specialty but with aftermarket alarms the passive arming feature is selectable.  You may be able to turn the passive arming off via a programming menu.  If it is a factory alarm this information would be listed in the owner's manual.  If you can not find the answer there, try posting your question to www.hondaforums.com
