Car Alarms: 2000 Dodge Avenger, dodge avenger, momentary switch

Question
The factory alarm seems to be triggering at all the wrong times. First I thought it was the remote or the batteries that needed replacement so I did install new batteries, it seemed to be fine for a couple weeks, but simply not the case today. The alarm triggers and cannot be turned off with the remote or by putting the key in the ignition like the factory manual says. The door locks still work with the remote, but I cannot stop the lights from flashing. I've removed the factory fuse and horn relay just to reduce the waking of neighbors at 4 a.m. Is there an easy diagnostics or maybe a kill switch that I can install to help control this problem?
maybe a schematic of the factory electrical could be of some help?

Answer
For a factory wiring schematic you might want to try a dodge forum.  You will find a lot of helpful people in forums.

Take a look at either door harness and find a green/white wire.  This wire goes to ground when you unlock either door with a key and disarms the factory alarm.  If you run a ground through a momentary switch to this wire, you should be able to disarm the alarm by pushing this switch.  Grounding this wire permanently may disable the alarm all together but may also cause undesired operations (like dome light staying on).
