Car Alarms: 03 Trailblazer wont start / reset anti-theft? Python?, dash area, button spring

Question
QUESTION: This is the second time this has happened in about a month ~ the truck won't start, but lights radio, etc. will come on.  We bought this used in Nov. and the original owner had a Python security system installed.  We just assumed since we weren't paying any subscription for the Python it wasn't activated, but could this be causing a problem with staring or the factory anti-theft?  I've read on other message boards of people having the same problem with TRailblazers.  Any thoughts?  How do you reset the factory anti-theft and un-install the Python?  Can you disable the factory anti-theft?  THANKS!
ANSWER: The alarm seems to be in tamper mode.
You will need to reset, but the aftermarket alarm
seems to be doing it's job.

At least we know it's installed correctly
which is actually a good thing here.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart
(Go to: www.vehiclewires.com)
for the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until safely removed.

If it does not work out this way,
you will have to replace the system
with one you know how to operate
and what to expect. Don't want to
get stuck in another bad situation.

Let me know what happens.

QUESTION: Couldn't locate the valet overide switch, do you have to take off the dash?  Researched further on the internet and found ignition switch problems are common w/ TBs, so that might be the problem, GM issued a few TSBs, . . . I hate to have to take it to the dealer, hate even more to have to have it towed there, especially since the nearest Chevy dealer is about 18 miles away.  I'm having more problems with my "new" Chevy than I did with my 10 year old one.  We've tried everything today: locked/unlocked w/ keyless entry and key, left the key in the ignition for 10 mins. then tried, took the battery out for 10 mins. then tried, sprayed silicon lubricant in the ignition then tried - NOTHING!  Thankfully, at least we were at home when this happened, both times, and not out somewhere with the kids.  From my experience and what I've read, this TB is proving to be an unreliable vehicle.

Answer
If it is aftermarket, the valet switch is placed
somewhere under the dash, to the left leg area,
or possibly part of the antenna.

But if it is a GM PASSLOCK/SECURITY issue,
I will have to say is to please have a GM
tech inspect/reset, or repair.

This vehicle's databus system is a bit touchy, so
it is my best suggestion to solve this issue.

I wish you all the best.
