Car Alarms: 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee alarm problem, jeep grand cherokee, auto starter

Question
My car battery died. I had a new alarm/auto-starter installed a few years back. When I go to jump my car, the factory alarm takes over, I can't turn it off, and the battery dies again. I don't have the original alarm remote, and can't seem to find the valet button everyone keeps talking about. Any advice?

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
purple/yellow |-| negative wire
Located in the drivers door harness.

Once Located, splice into either wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
