Car Alarms: 98 chrysler, voyager factory alarm bad, 1998 plymouth voyager, plymouth voyager

Question
QUESTION: Hi, my 1998 plymouth voyager expresso 3.3 flex fuel minivan has factory alarm issues. 3 years ago hood trigger went bad and i was able to circumvent the problem by disconnecting the switch, arming light on dash is now steady and not blinking during arming. Now 3 years later the alarm started going off for no reason horn barking lights flashing so i have been overiding by locking all doors with driver's or passenger's switch then pulling the lock plunger up, shutting the door, then opening before alarm arms, pushing the plunger back down and closing the door, thus disabling the alarm but locking the vehicle. I would like to permanently disable the alarm. Hope you can help me.
ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: it is definatly a factory alarm. headlights flash, horn honks, I have the original key fob(s) to silence it and reset it.

Answer
The trouble here comes in how to disarm it.
According to what I know about this system, you need
to remotely unlock the doors to also disarm the
alarm. They are intertwined. This means either get new remotes
programmed to your system, or add an aftermarket
keyless entry to make this happen.

Sorry to give you a solution that will cost one way or another,
but you can blame dodge for this one.

Good luck with it.
