Car Alarms: alarm wont sound, valet mode, dash area


Question
i changed the battery to my car...1995 yukon...thinking everything was cool...went to pu tthe alarm on...nothing...the LED light stays on...it locks and unlocks...but the alram wont sound on or off...
what do i have to do to get it back to regular operation?
thsi happened once...i took it to a friend they aimed the remote at the LED and did something and it reset...but now...i have no idea what to do...

Should be no problem really.
It appears from your explaination, that the
car alarm is in service mode.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.
Let me know what happens.
