Car Alarms: honda car alarm wont stop, honda civic type r, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: hi there, i recently replaced the battery in my honda civic type r 2003, and as soon as i reconected the new battery the alarm goes off and wont stop, it was fine before. how do i stop it? is there a reset code?
ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: hi there, thank you for the quick reply. it is a factory standard fit thatcham cat 1 alarm and immobiliser made by hamilton and palmer, as soon as i reconnect the battery, the alarm siren will sound, the lights do not flash, just the sound of the siren. i can start and drive the car fine with no problems.

Answer
Do you know where the valet overide button was placed
upon being fitted to this car? This is important to
disarm/disable the system, and disengage the siren.

There is an overide procedure that Thatchum uses to
do this using an overide switch, and it would
be in the manual as to how to toggle in and
out of overide/service mode. See if you can locate
the switch and manual to get this accomplished.
