Car Alarms: honda car alarm, push button switch, honda civic type r

Question
QUESTION: hi there, i recently replaced the battery in my honda civic type r 2003, and as soon as i reconected the new battery the alarm goes off and wont stop, it was fine before. how do i stop it? is there a reset code?
ANSWER: Assuming this is an aftermarket alarm, there should be a manual override switch in the vehicle.  This switch could be a toggle switch or a push button switch.  Most alarms can be shut off by this switch by turning the key to the run position and pressing/flipping this switch.  This is known as valet mode.  If you post the exact make and model of the alarm I will see what I can do about finding you a manual for your system that would explain this procedure in better detail.

QUESTION: hi there, thank for the quick reply. the security is a thatcham cat 1 alarm/immobiliser system as standard, it is made by hamilton and palmer.

thank you

Answer
I wish I could offer more than just generic assistance however this being a European alarm system I am not at all familiar with that system.  I would suggest taking a look at their website http://www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk/ and send them a message requesting a way to download a manual for that system.
