Car Alarms: disconnect an alaram on a 95 honda civic, alaram, dash panel

Question
Hi, I lost the remote control and my alarm won't go off. All I want to do is just
disconnect the whole thing. I believe that t is  an after market alarm I noticed in
a few of the other answers I read on this subject that you have to  puush the
valet button I look under the driving wheel and I can't seem to find it. I need to
know if I even have a valet/over ride button. How can I dis connet my car alaram

Answer
Without knowing the exact make and model of the alarm I will not be able to give specifics.  Here is a generalized suggestion on how to remove the alarm.

Remove the dash panel under the steering column, trace back the wires that were tapped in for the alarm.  They will lead you back to the alarm brain, unplug all harnesses from the brain.  Trace each wire back to where it was spliced into the vehicle and remove them.  Take care to insulate all connections and pay special attention to wires that were cut, restoring them to their original connections.  You may find that once you unplug the harnesses the vehicle will operate as if it never had an alarm so just insulating the connectors that were unplugged may suffice.
