Car Alarms: Viper Alarm Transmitter, windshield, antenna

Question
I have a Viper 791XV installed on my Jimmy.  I took it to get the oil changed and now the remote is working improperly.  It used to alert me by telling what part of the car was touched to trigger the alarm.  It also used to say whether or not the vehicle was locked.  The remote just stays blank buy works.  Wondering if you knew how to fix.  Thanks.

Answer
1. Put a new battery in the transmitter.  It is just a AAA so easy and inexpensive thing to try first.

2. Disconnect the wire from the antenna on the windshield and reconnect it after 2 minutes.  This should resync the transmitter and alarm.  Be very careful when removing the plug from the antenna as it is somewhat delicate.
