Car Alarms: needed answers, starter wire, battery radio

Question
Have a 93 grand Cherokee that wont start. It's not the battery, radio and lights are fine.I need to know exactly how to disconnect the alarm system all together

Answer
If it is a factory alarm you are asking how to remove I do not believe it can be 'removed'.

Take off the panel covering the driver's kick panel, in there in a black plug you will find a purple/yellow wire.  This wire is the factory alarm disarm wire, grounding this wire will disarm the factory alarm.

If it is an after market system then take down the dash panel under the steering column, find the wires that were tapped in for the alarm, follow them back to the brain of the system.  Unplug all of the harnesses from the brain ensuring that none will short out.  Cover any exposed connectors with electrical tape and remove any supply fuses from the harness.  If your system was installed in the normal way the vehicle's starter wire will now be restored, if it is not then you will have to reconnect it by removing the wires from the relay they go to and restore the cut wire.  The starter wire in your vehicle is a yellow/blue wire.
