Car Alarms: Auto Alarm System, viper alarm system, valet mode

I currently have what I think is a viper alarm system. I believe it's turned off. The red LED in my truck remains still all the time. I'm only able to lock and unlock by pushing the buttons(my remote has 2). I don't know how to reactivate the alarm. I've searched online for a guide and all I found were replacemnts for the remote (model 471T or similar)

Your system is in valet mode.  Valet mode is a way to over ride the alarm but still allow the convenience features to function.  Turn your ignition key to the run position and flip the small switch that is mounted in the vehicle, typically somewhere in the driver's kick panel.  Most DEI systems also offer a way to enter and exit valet mode via the remote, you can try pressing button I, button II, button I in sequence and this may also take the system out of valet mode.
