-----Question-----
I just bought a 98 Isuzu Rodeo from a individual, it has anti-theft alarm, I did not know this until i got it home and it was going off in the middle of the night. The previous owner did not give me a remote  for it, and it keeps goin off for no apparent reason, the only way I can keep it from going off is to always leave one door unlocked. Which I do not feel comfortable doin all the time. Is there anyway of completely disabling the anti-theft alarm without having to take it to the dealership, I already called and they said I had to take it to them and it would be 62.50 just for them to look at it plus the cost to fix it. I would rather just disconnect it for now.

Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

Hmmm, Ok, normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

Locate the yellow/blue wire |-| in the
drivers kick in a white plug.
Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to the
chassis of the car. Grounding it out permanantly.

This terminates the alarm functions until ungrounded.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
