Car Alarms: firebird, security light, firebird

I have a 99 firebird hatchback with both an aftermarket alarm and facory, car will not start security light blinks and car doesn't unlock using keypad. it's not chirping. it still has power, just think it may be electrical or the alarm. can u help??

It sounds as though the aftermarket remote has a bad unlock connection and will not disarm the factory alarm during unlock. because of this it put the car into tamper mode. Put the key in the ignition and leave it turned on for a minimum of 10 minutes or until the security light stops blinking. It should start. if this does happen and the horn starts put the key in the door and unlock the car.
