Car Alarms: 95 Toyota tercel alarm, toyota tercel, vip system

Question
I have a '95 Toyota tercel with an alarm that is now set with the red led light blinking so I can't start the car because I lost the alarm key a few years ago. I don't know if it was factory installed or not because I bought it used though the red light looks factory installed. Also UI don't see any swithces on the floor or anything. Usually this is no problem because I can't set the alarm either.  Now this has happened in the past but it has always reset itself after a few hours. At first the car just wouldn't start but also the alarm wasn't going off.  This time I did get someone to give it a jump but that just seemed to make it more sensitive because now every time you open the door or touch it the alarm goes off.  This time it is not resetting and I really need the car as my wife went out of town with the other car so I am begging rides. Please help! Thanks,

Answer
My tech sheet says that the factory alarm arms and disarms with lock and unlock.  This leads me to believe you may have an aftermarket system installed.  It may be a VIP system that the Toyota dealer installed, but these too typically disarm by using the key to unlock the door.  If you are not interested in retaining the system, removing the fuses powering the system may resolve your issue.  Here is a link to a VIP system installation instruction document, although it will be different than what you have in your vehicle it may shed some light on the logic used to install your system and allow you to remove it.
