Thank you so much for your response.  On the back of the keyless remote there are these numebers.  Hopefully it can help you locate the model number:

FCC ID:  EZSDEI474V
800-274-0200

Thank you

-----Question-----
I have a 1996 Land Rover Discovery.  I bought the car used.  It can with a viper alarm preinstalled.  Recently, the light started blinking and no longer unlocked the car.  I thought it might be a battery issue, so I replaced the battery.  The light on the keyless remote still blinks and does not work.  Is there any way you can help me resolve this issue?

-----Answer-----
Is it possible that the remote got wet?
If the light is blinking and the system is not responding, trying a reset may fix the issue.  The easiest way to reset the system would be to disconnect the vehicle battery for a minute, then reconnect.  You must ensure that the reconnecting of the battery is smooth and does not cause spikes.
If you post the exact model number of your system I will look for the owner's and installation manuals for your system.  This will explain how to program a new remote.

That number only refers to the model of the remote itself.  You would need to take a look under the driver's side dash of the vehicle and find the brain.  On the brain itself will be the model number of the unit.  This is the number I would need to get you a manual.

You can check this page:

for a replacement remote.

Sorry, should have been more specific.  Take down the driver's side dash panel under the steering column look at the ignition harness and follow the wires that were tapped in to the brain.

Viper 474V is the model number of your remote control.  You can purchase a new remote through the link I posted in an earlier response.  That remote can control multiple different systems, not just one, this is why I need the exact model number of your system.  The Viper is probably mounted under the driver's side dash of the vehicle.  To access it you would need to pull down the panel that covers the underside dash.  Once you have the exact model number of the system I may be able to find the manuals for your system.

Answer
Absolutely it could!  Normally though connections will be made at the ignition harness coming from the key switch, take a look at the harness running down from there.  You should see wires that were added, following these wires will reveal the brain of the alarm.
