Car Alarms: Altima 2K Immobilizer on with chip key, hot glue, duplicate keys

Question
I got the dealer to make me a spare key. They programmed it. Usually it does not deactivate the immobilizer. They have tried reprogramming, disconnected the aftermaket remote starter/alarm, cut me a new key twice. Now the original key does not work or at least works rarely. The new one works. Before the last reprogamming of the keys the new key didn't work but the original one did.

I bought the car used with two keys that worked and an after market starter which worked. I lost a key. The starter never worked after the key reprogamming and one key does not work. What's going on.

Answer
It appears your reader in the ignition column is
faulty, or the programing would take, and there
would be no difficulties.

If they are unwilling to replace the reader module
in the ignition for the immobilizer, I suggest,
You permanantly bypass the immobilizer.

First, go make some spare keys at home depot.
Just your basic duplicate keys, no frills.
Now, go buy a universal trransponder bypass kit,
take your key that works, and place it in the bypass
kit. Then, find the one spot that on the ignition switch
that allows you to start the engine using ANY key,
hot glue it into place, & put the ground imput
to the chassis of the car, No more immobilizer,
period.

Now obviously, it leaves the car vulnerable at this point,
and an aftermarket system should be subsituted, but
it does solve you continuing issue with the OEM
system that is costing you time and money now as it is.

But that's up to you. I can only speak
to the issue at hand and advise as to what "I would
do". You may have another route to try.

Let me know what you come up with to fix it.
