I´m now discussing with an american company called scytek about an alarm called ASTRA 777, with microwave sensor, that will cost me something like 190USD (http://www.pagingalarm.com/(http://www.scytek.net/pdf/product_astra_security_777_manual.pdf).
Do you have any feedback about it Denny?
I have seen that this model can have glass, microwave and lock/unlock sensor and as well paging. Here in Portugal it is something dificult to find. So now I´m wondering if cost plus the trouble to install this one will not "overcome" the alternative which is to buy one basic "cobra" localy and having someone instaling it ...Would like to comment?

What is your opinion about this alarm since it seems quite sheap and I wanted to install it in a Cabrio and therefore a special sensor should come with it?
About the instalation: does it go without problems? microwaves should be use since it is a soft top car?

I have not used any of the Option Group products. I have heard a lot of negatives on them but also a fair share of positives. Personally since you have the ragtop I would look into a more reliable brand name alarm. Just from my experience from using other low end cheap alarms the outcome is usually not worth the savings. I would be more than happy to help you choose another brand and module needed for your car if you decide you want something more reliable. Other than that I wish you luck.

AnswerScytek is a good brand and has been around for a while. The range is not what it claims and the transmitters seam to go through batteries rather often. If you have no knowledge of your cars wiring or workings you would be better off spending the extra and let your local shop do this. Cobra does offer a two way unit that the local shop should be able to get for you also.
