Car Alarms: viper remote question, alarm button, 2003 dodge 1500

Question
We tried your suggestion but when we went to look for a valet button all we found were to wires that were not connected to anything.  We hooked up a toggle switch to the wires and tried your suggestion but could not get it to work. We would get a beep (sometimes) but could not get the remote to do anything.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated, thanks for helping,

Thanks for getting back to me,
The only numbers we can find on the module are:
  350 HV   and
  VC310160 09 2
Hope one of these is what you are looking for, I can not find the owners booklet/manual, so any additional help you could give me to program the remote will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again,

-----Question-----
my son just bought a 2003 Dodge 1500 with 2 viper remotes, one works fine but the other does nothing. Put a new battery in it with no help. Any help would be appreciated.
         Thanks  Ed

The remote may need reprogrammed. If you have the manual it will tell you how to do this if not you will need to get the model # off the module usually mounted under the drivers dash I can then get you instructions on how to program the remote.

Try this: Open the door, turn the key on, push the valet button 1 time and release, then press and hold the same button in, you should get 1 chirp from the alarm keep the button pushed and press the lock button on the remote you should get another confirmation chirp then you can release the valet button and turn the key off. That is how to program the viper remote for your model if this does not work for you let me know we can try another way.

The valet button will be located in the car. They can be and will be mounted anywhere hidden most of the time. Some common places are drivers/passenger kick panel, low on the drivers side dash, In the glove box, or in the center console. It will be a small push button but sometimes (very rare) a toggle switch. If you can find the module you can sometimes try tracing the wires to the valet switch.

Answer
Really no other suggestions here. The alarm needs to be in the programming mode and this model can only be done by using the valet button or switch. It is possible that the remote is just bad. Not sure why they would have disconnected the valet switch but if they are the wires then you could just connect them together and try it that way. that is all the switch does anyway so follow my directions and touching the wires in the sequence just like you would be pushing the button.
