Car Alarms: Ignition interupt plastic key, code keys, best bet

Question
I bout a new Toyota truck back in 1992.  It had a very inexpesive theft deterent system that was basically a inline wire to the ignition that went into a plug and out to the ignition of the truck.  The only way to start the vehicle was to have a plastic key that came with it so when you plugged in the key in completed the loop and the truck would start.  Where do I get something like that?
PLEASE HELP!
Bob

Answer
The trouble here is those code keys are
series coded. Without knowing the code
you have, replacement is near impossible,
even through the distributor you bought it from.

I carry something simular, and if the keys
are lost or stolen, the whole system
needs to be removed/replaced.

Sorry, but unless you know the manufacturer
and can replace what you currently have,
then your best bet is to remove it and start over.

As you said, they are inexpensive, but effective.

Wish I had better news for ya.
