Car Alarms: viper 791 responder xv stuck in valet?, viper 791 xv, valet mode

Question
um, I dont think you really read my question completly. You see I mentioned I had the manual and these steps are in the manual so, needless to say....I have tried them already. Also, I mentioned in my original question that I HAVE BOTH A VALET SWITCH AND (I REPEAT) AND A TOGGLE ON/OFF SWITCH. I was hoping you could give me some unconventional steps, being that I have a slightly different alarm setup. Thanks for your time, I will try my luck at a shop since nobody can seem to READ my question and provide useful advise, giving all the circumstances given my alarm system configuration.

Thanks for your time.

-----Question-----
Hi, I have a viper 791 xv, I have both the toggle switch on the dash with LED, and the valet switch on the kick panel. I have the manual and have tried to disengage valet. Right now, my keyless entry and remote start work. the LED is solid unless the car is on, then it goes out. I don't get the chirps when arming or disarming the car, it just locks the doors. so, with the combination of valet on the kick panel and the toggle (on/off) switch, how do I disengage valet (if this is what the problem actually is)

Thanks for you help..
-----Answer-----
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart for
the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until it's safely removed.

If it does not work out this way, you will have
to replace the system with one you know how
to operate and what to expect.

Let me know what happens.

Answer
I did read it. from your description the
alarm you have is in valet/service mode.
By following those steps used to go into
valet, should also take it out thus
allowing for the alarm to arm as before.

The service mode on this system does
allow for the keyless to operate.
But, stops the alarm chirps or siren
or door perimeter monitoring.

So that is why I sent the advice I did.

Now if yours is NOT responding as expected,
there may be another issue I am unaware of,
but from my experience, it is the normal
procedure. Key on, press and hold valet button
until the siren chirps, and the lights flash.
Key off.

Sorry you felt I simply glanced at your letter.
I assure you I did not.
