Car Alarms: Wrangler immobiliser, radio transmissions, mechanical issues

Question
Hi! I parked my Wrangler in a car park just opposite this huge building of Ntl and since then i ve been having problems with disabling the immobiliser and the engine won't start.  Twice i waited in the car for 2 hrs and then suddenly it did click and i managed to switch it on but since then no luck.  Someone else said they also had the same problem in the same car park, same car.  Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Answer
I have yet to hear of radio transmissions interfering with factory transponders.  I would have to think that is a possibility to have radio frequencies interfere with the information being interpreted by the vehicle but I have never heard of it happening.

The Wrangler however only offered a transponder on the unlimited model (through 05, I do not have information for the newest models).  If your Jeep has a key with a gray plastic head then it does have a transponder, if it has a black colored head it does not have a transponder.

If your key has a black head then I would recommend taking it to a shop and have them check your vehicle for mechanical issues such as a bad starter, or battery, or solenoid.
