When i try to lock my car with the remote it locks then waits approx 4 seconds, indicators flash and then alarms go off. I have tried to lock the car with the key in the door it waits a few seconds then unlocks itself. Is this an alarm fault or remote locking fault? Please help x

This sounds like your vehicle believes a door is open.  Check your door pins to ensure they are all in proper working order.  Most newer vehicles have the 'door pins' built into the door latch mechanism now so this may not be as easy as it used to be.  However I believe that the Hyundai still uses standard door pins.  Do you have a door ajar indicator illuminated on your instrument panel?

Answer
To test if it is the door indicator, sit in the drivers seat of the car, close all doors, arm the alarm and stare at the location of the door ajar indicator.  If it is a bad pin switch, you should see the indicator pop on at the same time the alarm is being triggered.
